# GeoQR Help Center (/docs)
Use this help center to move from first login to branded, published QR codes without digging through one oversized organization menu.
Everything here is written for customers and organization members using the app.
## First Steps [#first-steps]
Create your account and verify your email in [Getting Started](/docs/getting-started).
Join or create an organization, then confirm the right plan and billing access.
Add a domain in [Domains](/docs/domains) if branded links matter to your rollout.
Upload reusable artwork in [Media](/docs/media) before you open the QR builder.
Create, publish, and validate your first live code from [QR Codes](/docs/qr-codes).
## Common Tasks [#common-tasks]
Start in [Getting Started](/docs/getting-started), then move directly to [Create a QR Code](/docs/qr-codes/create-a-qr-code). If branded links matter, pause at [Domains](/docs/domains) before you publish.
Open [Domains](/docs/domains) for the DNS setup flow, then return to [Publish and Share](/docs/qr-codes/publish-and-share) once the domain shows as active.
Check [Team & Access](/docs/team-access) for role limits, then review [Billing](/docs/billing) if the entire area looks unavailable.
Start with [QR Code and Scan Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/qr-code-and-scan-issues), then review [Analytics](/docs/analytics) if you need scan timing or regional context.
Go straight to [Invitation and Login Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/invitation-and-login-issues).
## Suggested Reading Order [#suggested-reading-order]
1. [Getting Started](/docs/getting-started)
2. [QR Codes](/docs/qr-codes)
3. [Domains](/docs/domains), if you need branded links
4. [Media](/docs/media), if you use logos or artwork
5. [Analytics](/docs/analytics), after something is live
6. [Troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting), only when a real flow breaks
# Account and Security (/docs/account-security)
Use the Account settings area to control your personal profile and sign-in security.
## Account Information [#account-information]
You can update:
* your display name
* your timezone
Your timezone matters because GeoQR uses it for date-based Analytics views.
If Analytics dates look wrong, checking your timezone should be your first step.
## Recommended Security Setup [#recommended-security-setup]
Keep your password updated if you use password-based sign-in.
Enable two-factor authentication with an authenticator app.
Save backup codes outside your main device when GeoQR shows them.
## Delete Your Account [#delete-your-account]
You can delete your account from the Danger Zone in Account settings.
Important behavior:
* account deletion is permanent
* password-based accounts must confirm with the current password
* if your session is too old, GeoQR may ask you to sign in again before deletion succeeds
* you cannot delete your account while you are still an owner of any organization
When account deletion succeeds, GeoQR removes your sign-in access, memberships, invitations you sent, and your personal notification state.
GeoQR does not delete shared organization resources just because you created or last edited them. If you still own an organization, delete it or transfer ownership first.
## Common Security Questions [#common-security-questions]
If you use password-based sign-in, you can update your password from Settings. If you do not yet have a password set, use the password setup or reset flow first.
GeoQR blocks account deletion while you still own one or more organizations. Delete those organizations or transfer ownership first, then retry account deletion.
Enter your current password, scan the setup code with your authenticator app, enter the latest 6-digit code, and save the backup codes GeoQR shows you.
Each backup code can be used once, the codes are not shown continuously in settings, and regenerating them replaces the old set.

# Notifications (/docs/account-security/notifications)
GeoQR uses notifications to call attention to issues that may affect your QR codes.
## Where Notifications Appear [#where-notifications-appear]
Use the bell icon in the app header to open the notification inbox.
Inside the inbox, you can:
* view all notifications
* switch to unread only
* mark all as read
* open the related QR code directly
## What Notifications Are For [#what-notifications-are-for]
Notifications are focused on QR destination issues that need review.
Examples include:
* a destination that looks invalid
* a destination that needs attention before it should be trusted
At the moment, the notification system is centered on redirect safety rather than general activity updates.
## Email and In-App Delivery [#email-and-in-app-delivery]
For each notification type, you can choose whether you want:
* in-app delivery
* email delivery
* both
These preferences are managed in Settings.
If you want fewer emails, keep in-app notifications enabled and turn off email for lower-priority review work.
You can also reset unsaved changes in notification settings before saving new preferences.
## What Happens When You Open One [#what-happens-when-you-open-one]
When you open a notification, GeoQR takes you to the related QR code so you can review and fix the problem faster.
## A Simple Way To Work Through Notifications [#a-simple-way-to-work-through-notifications]
1. Open the unread tab.
2. Start with the newest issue.
3. Open the related QR code.
4. Fix the destination or design problem.
5. Test again.
## If the Inbox Looks Empty [#if-the-inbox-looks-empty]
If you do not see anything in the inbox:
* switch between **All** and **Unread**
* confirm your active organization is the one you expect
* check your notification preferences in Settings
* remember that notifications appear only when GeoQR detects redirect issues that need review

# Analytics (/docs/analytics)
Analytics helps you understand how your QR codes are performing over time.
## What You Can See [#what-you-can-see]
Depending on your activity, Analytics can show:
* total scan trends
* daily scan activity
* country distribution
* recent activity
* QR-specific performance
## A Good Review Routine [#a-good-review-routine]
Start with the dashboard for a quick health check.
Open Analytics for a deeper look.
Filter by date range first.
Narrow by QR code or country only when you need more detail.
## Filters [#filters]
Use filters to focus the results you care about.
You can filter by:
* date range
* QR code
* country
If you want to broaden the view again, clear the filters and start over from the full organization picture.
## Dashboard vs Analytics Page [#dashboard-vs-analytics-page]
* The dashboard is best for quick daily review.
* The Analytics page is better when you want to explore trends in more detail.
## Common Analytics Questions [#common-analytics-questions]
Choose the date range first, narrow to one QR code if needed, and add country filtering only when you want regional detail. This usually makes trends easier to read than applying many filters at once.
GeoQR uses the timezone from your account settings when showing date-based analytics views. Update your timezone first if the dates look off.
If a QR was just published, scan it yourself once or twice with a real device and give the data a little time to appear before assuming the analytics flow is broken.

# Domains (/docs/domains)
Domains let you move QR codes onto branded links instead of relying only on the default organization option.
## Add a Domain [#add-a-domain]
Open the Domains page and select **Add domain**.
Enter the hostname or subdomain you want to use.
Add the DNS records GeoQR shows you exactly as written.
Wait for the domain to become active before you assign it to an important live QR code.
Most teams use a dedicated subdomain for QR codes rather than their main website root, because it is easier to manage and test safely. A dedicated subdomain keeps QR routing separate from your main website and is usually easier to update, test, and troubleshoot.
Start with a subdomain you control, such as `qr.yourbrand.com`, and wait until it is fully active before assigning it to an important live QR code.
Examples many teams prefer:
* `qr.yourbrand.com`
* `go.yourbrand.com`
* `scan.yourbrand.com`
## What GeoQR May Ask You To Add [#what-geoqr-may-ask-you-to-add]
Depending on the domain state, GeoQR may show:
* a CNAME record
* a TXT verification record
* a GeoQR TXT ownership claim record when GeoQR must confirm that your workspace controls the domain before provisioning continues
Add those records exactly as shown in your DNS provider.
## When the Domain Becomes Usable [#when-the-domain-becomes-usable]
After the DNS records are added correctly, the domain moves into an active state and becomes available for QR codes.
This can take a little time depending on DNS propagation and certificate setup.
Until the domain is active, keep using an available domain option in your QR drafts.
Do not switch an important live QR to a branded domain until that domain is fully active and tested.
On the Domains page, GeoQR also shows the current status, how many QR codes are linked to the domain, and when it was last checked.
## Common Domain Questions [#common-domain-questions]
Confirm the record name, record value, DNS zone, and that enough time has passed for propagation. If it still is not ready, remove any typos first, then refresh the domain status from the row actions menu.
Yes. The row actions menu can copy the CNAME target and any TXT verification values GeoQR is currently expecting.
No. Move any QR codes that still use the domain to another domain first, then return and remove it.
## What To Do Next [#what-to-do-next]
When the domain becomes active:
1. open an existing QR code or create a new one
2. select the domain in the QR flow
3. publish and test the QR again

# Billing (/docs/billing)
Billing is managed at the organization level.
In many organizations, billing changes are handled by an owner or admin.
## What You Can See [#what-you-can-see]
The Billing page can show:
* your current plan
* plan status
* renewal or trial dates
* included limits
* current usage
* upgrade options
Usage information is especially useful when you want to understand whether your current plan still fits how your team is using GeoQR.
## What Billing Affects [#what-billing-affects]
Billing access determines whether your organization can use paid areas such as:
* QR codes
* domains
* analytics
* media
## Use Billing In This Order [#use-billing-in-this-order]
Review the current plan, renewal or trial dates, and usage.
Decide whether you need to upgrade, resume checkout, or open the billing portal.
Hand the task to an owner or admin if the action is role-limited.
## Common Billing Questions [#common-billing-questions]
You can review available plans, upgrade, continue an incomplete checkout, and open the billing portal when available.
Billing remains visible so someone on the team can fix the issue, but paid areas of the app stay locked until access returns.
Review billing before a larger launch, when your team needs more domains or media capacity, or when feature access changes unexpectedly.
## See Also [#see-also]
* [Choose a plan](/docs/getting-started/choose-a-plan)
* [Roles and permissions](/docs/team-access/roles-and-permissions)
* [Billing and access issues](/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues)
# Choose a Plan (/docs/getting-started/choose-a-plan)
After creating a new organization, GeoQR asks you to choose a plan.
## During Plan Selection [#during-plan-selection]
You can:
* compare available plans
* review usage limits
* start checkout
* continue to the dashboard once your organization has access
## What To Look At Before Choosing [#what-to-look-at-before-choosing]
Before you pick a plan, compare:
* how many QR codes you expect to publish
* how many domains you need
* whether your team needs media uploads
* how much scan volume you expect over time
If you are choosing your first plan, it is usually better to pick for your immediate launch needs rather than trying to predict every future campaign on day one.
## Trial and Active Access [#trial-and-active-access]
Depending on your plan, you may see trial access before the first paid billing period begins.
Once the organization has access, you can use paid areas such as:
* QR codes
* domains
* analytics
* media
## If You Cannot Change Billing Yourself [#if-you-cannot-change-billing-yourself]
Depending on your organization role, you may be able to view billing information without being the person who manages plan changes. If you cannot complete the billing action you need, ask an organization owner or admin to handle it.
If the Billing page is visible but the controls you expected are missing, this is usually a role issue rather than a checkout issue.
## If Checkout Was Not Completed [#if-checkout-was-not-completed]
If checkout was started but not finished:
* GeoQR shows that the selected plan is still pending
* you can choose that plan again to resume checkout
## If You Skip Too Early [#if-you-skip-too-early]
If your organization does not yet have access, the app can still show billing-related pages, but paid feature areas stay locked until access is active.
## What To Do Next [#what-to-do-next]
After billing access is active:
1. Open the dashboard.
2. Add a custom domain if needed.
3. Upload any design assets you want to use.
4. Create and publish your first QR code.

# Create and Sign In to Your Account (/docs/getting-started/create-account-and-sign-in)
## Create an Account [#create-an-account]
To create an account:
1. Open the sign-up page.
2. Enter your details.
3. Submit the form.
4. Check your inbox for the verification email.
5. Verify your email before trying to use the main app.
## Email Verification [#email-verification]
GeoQR requires email verification for password-based accounts.
Until your email is verified:
* you may be able to sign in
* but you will not finish the normal setup flow cleanly
If you do not see the email:
* check spam or junk
* confirm you used the correct address
* try signing in again to trigger another verification flow if needed
## Sign In [#sign-in]
You can sign in with your GeoQR account and continue to the app.
After sign-in, GeoQR sends you to:
* your dashboard, if you already have an active organization
* onboarding, if you still need to join or create an organization
## Forgot Your Password [#forgot-your-password]
Use the forgot-password flow if you cannot sign in with your password.
You will receive a reset link by email. Use that link to set a new password and then sign in again.
## Two-Factor Authentication [#two-factor-authentication]
GeoQR supports authenticator-based two-factor authentication.
When 2FA is enabled:
* you sign in with your password first
* then confirm the sign-in with a 6-digit authenticator code
When you enable 2FA, GeoQR also shows backup codes. Save those codes somewhere safe. Each code can be used once.
## Important to Know [#important-to-know]
* Two-factor setup currently works for accounts that have a password.
* If your account does not yet have a password, set one first and then return to the security settings.

# Getting Started (/docs/getting-started)
This section is the shortest route from first login to a working GeoQR workspace.
If you were invited by someone else, use the same email address for sign-in and invitation acceptance. That avoids the most common onboarding problem.
## Recommended Order [#recommended-order]
Start with [Create and Sign In](/docs/getting-started/create-account-and-sign-in).
Continue to [Join or Create an Organization](/docs/getting-started/join-or-create-a-workspace).
Use [Choose a Plan](/docs/getting-started/choose-a-plan) if your setup requires billing access before launch.
Finish with [Navigate the Dashboard](/docs/getting-started/navigate-the-dashboard) so you know where domains, billing, and QR workflows live.
## What You Need Before You Begin [#what-you-need-before-you-begin]
* An email address you can access.
* An organization invitation, or a plan to create your own organization.
* A destination URL you want your QR codes to open.
* If you want branded links, a domain or subdomain you control.
## What Happens First [#what-happens-first]
After you sign in, GeoQR checks whether you already belong to an organization.
* If you do, you can continue into the app.
* If you do not, GeoQR sends you to onboarding so you can join an organization or create one.
Onboarding appears only when your account does not yet have an active organization selected. Once you belong to one, GeoQR sends you straight to the app instead.
## What To Open Next [#what-to-open-next]
Once you reach the dashboard, most new users should continue with:
1. [Domains](/docs/domains), if branded links matter to you
2. [Media](/docs/media), if you want to use logos or images
3. [Create a QR Code](/docs/qr-codes/create-a-qr-code), to publish your first working QR
## If Setup Feels Blocked [#if-setup-feels-blocked]
The most common reasons are:
* you are signed in with a different email than the one that received the invitation
* your organization does not yet have billing access
* your role does not allow the action you expected
Use these pages next:
* [Invitation and Login Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/invitation-and-login-issues)
* [Billing and Access Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues)

# Join or Create an Organization (/docs/getting-started/join-or-create-a-workspace)
In GeoQR, your work happens inside an organization. If you do not already have one after sign-in, GeoQR guides you through onboarding.
## Option 1: Join an Existing Organization [#option-1-join-an-existing-organization]
If someone invited you:
1. Open the invitation email.
2. Select the invitation link.
3. Review the organization name, role, and expiration date.
4. Sign in with the same email address the invitation was sent to.
5. Accept the invitation.
If you received the invitation before creating your GeoQR account, create the account with that same email address first and then return to the invitation link.
## Invitation Rules [#invitation-rules]
GeoQR expects the signed-in account email to match the invited email.
If you are signed in with the wrong account:
* GeoQR asks you to switch accounts
* then returns you to the invitation flow
## Option 2: Create a New Organization [#option-2-create-a-new-organization]
If you are starting fresh:
1. Choose the create-organization option in onboarding.
2. Enter the organization name.
3. Continue to plan selection.
4. Finish setup and enter the dashboard.
The person who creates the organization becomes the owner.
## Roles You May See [#roles-you-may-see]
* `Owner`
* `Admin`
* `Member`
These roles affect what you can manage inside the organization.
If you are unsure what your role allows, read [Roles and permissions](/docs/team-access/roles-and-permissions).
## If You Already Have an Organization [#if-you-already-have-an-organization]
If you already have an active organization, GeoQR skips onboarding and sends you to the dashboard.
If you belong to more than one organization later, you can switch between them from the account menu inside the app.
## See Also [#see-also]

# Navigate the Dashboard (/docs/getting-started/navigate-the-dashboard)
Once you are inside the app, the dashboard and sidebar help you move through the main areas of GeoQR.
## Main Navigation [#main-navigation]
The main sidebar gives you access to:
* Dashboard
* QR Codes
* Media
* Domains
* Analytics
## Where To Go Next [#where-to-go-next]
If your goal is:
* create a QR code quickly: use **Quick create** in the sidebar
* build a QR code step by step: go to **QR Codes**
* upload logos or images: go to **Media**
* set up branded links: go to **Domains**
* review scan performance: go to **Analytics**
* update your organization or team: go to **Settings**
## What the Dashboard Shows [#what-the-dashboard-shows]
The dashboard is designed as a quick overview of organization activity.
You may see:
* greeting and current filters
* scan trends
* country breakdowns
* recent activity
* usage summaries tied to your plan
## Settings and Notifications [#settings-and-notifications]
Use settings for:
* account and security
* notifications
* organization settings
* members
* billing
Use the notification bell to review unread issues that need attention.
## Account Menu and Organization Switching [#account-menu-and-organization-switching]
Open the account menu in the sidebar when you need to:
* switch to another organization
* open Settings
* open Help
* change theme
* log out
If you belong to more than one organization, use the **Organization** section in that menu to switch between them.
## A Good First Workflow [#a-good-first-workflow]
For most new organizations, a sensible order is:
1. open Domains if you want a branded link
2. open Media if you want to use logos or images
3. open QR Codes and build your first draft
4. return to Analytics after the QR starts receiving scans
## Recent QR Codes [#recent-qr-codes]
The sidebar can also show recently updated QR codes so you can jump directly into editing them.
## Quick Create [#quick-create]
Use **Quick create** in the sidebar when you have a default URL and want to create a published QR code with a domain and optional design template. GeoQR opens the QR edit screen after creation so you can review the setup, add routing rules, or refine the design.

# Media Library (/docs/media)
Use Media when your team needs reusable logos, artwork, or image assets ready before the QR design step starts.
## What the Media Library Is For [#what-the-media-library-is-for]
Use Media when you want to:
* upload logo or brand images
* reuse artwork across multiple QR codes
* preview the files already available in your organization
* remove files you no longer need
## Uploading Files [#uploading-files]
Drag and drop a file into the upload area or click to browse from your device.
Let the upload finish, then open the preview to confirm you picked the correct asset.
Return to the QR design step and apply the file only after the preview looks correct.
Supported image types:
* JPG or JPEG
* PNG
* SVG
* WEBP
Uploads start immediately after you drop or select a file.
For best results, use clean, high-quality images and avoid uploading multiple versions of the same file unless your team really needs them.
## Common Media Questions [#common-media-questions]
GeoQR applies your plan's media file limit per organization. When you reach that limit, the upload area becomes unavailable until you delete an existing file.
The preview confirms you uploaded the right artwork before you apply it to a QR design. It is the fastest way to catch duplicate files or the wrong logo variation.
GeoQR checks whether the file is still referenced by a QR code. If it is, update those QR codes first, then return and delete the file.

# Create a QR Code (/docs/qr-codes/create-a-qr-code)
GeoQR supports two creation paths:
* **Quick create** for a live QR with one default destination, a domain, and an optional design template.
* **Guided create** for a draft that you can build step by step before publishing.
## Before You Start [#before-you-start]
It helps to have these ready:
* the final destination URL
* any country-specific destination URLs
* the domain you want to use
* any logos or images you want in the design
* any saved design template you want to reuse
If this is your first QR code, you do not need to optimize everything at once. You can start with the default domain, one destination URL, and a simple design, then improve it later.
## Quick Create [#quick-create]
Use **Quick create** when you already know the default destination and want a published QR code without stepping through the full draft flow.
Quick create asks for:
* default URL
* domain
* template, or the default look
* optional name
When the QR is created, GeoQR opens the edit screen for that QR code. From there, you can review the live setup, adjust the design, add country-specific destination rules, or save changes.
Use the guided flow instead when you want to prepare a draft before the QR becomes live.
## Guided Create Flow [#guided-create-flow]
When you create a QR code, GeoQR guides you through four steps:
1. Name
2. Domain
3. Destinations
4. Design
## Step 1: Name [#step-1-name]
The name is for your internal organization only. It helps your team identify the QR code later.
## Step 2: Domain [#step-2-domain]
Choose the domain that should serve the QR code.
* If you have custom domains set up, you can choose one of them.
* If not, use the default available option until you add a branded domain.
## Step 3: Destinations [#step-3-destinations]
Add the default destination URL the QR code should open.
You can also add country-specific destination rules. This is useful when different visitors should be sent to different links based on where they scan.
## Step 4: Design [#step-4-design]
Customize the visual appearance of the QR code, including optional media and frame styling.
You can also open **Templates** to apply a saved organization design or save the current appearance as a reusable template.
## Drafts [#drafts]
GeoQR saves your work as a draft while you build it. This lets you leave the editor and return later without publishing the QR code too early.
## Recommended First-Time Setup [#recommended-first-time-setup]
For the smoothest first launch:
1. use one default destination
2. skip country-specific rules unless you already know you need them
3. use a simple high-contrast design
4. add branded domains or media only if they are already ready
## Simple Defaults That Work Well [#simple-defaults-that-work-well]
If you are unsure about a choice, these defaults are usually safe:
* one clear default destination
* no country-specific rules at first
* the default serving domain until your branded one is ready
* a clean design with strong contrast
* a saved design template when your organization already has an approved look
* a real-device scan test before sharing
## Before You Publish [#before-you-publish]
Make sure you have:
* a clear internal name
* the right serving domain
* a working default destination
* any optional country rules you need
* a final design you are happy with
## What To Do Next [#what-to-do-next]
When the draft looks right:
1. Open [Publish and share](/docs/qr-codes/publish-and-share).
2. Test the QR yourself.
3. Share it only after you confirm the live result.

# Design and Media (/docs/qr-codes/design-and-media)
GeoQR lets you customize both the QR itself and any supporting frame or media treatment.
## Design Options [#design-options]
Depending on your QR setup, you can customize:
* colors
* gradients
* dot and corner styles
* frame style
* frame text
* optional media overlay
## Design Templates [#design-templates]
Use **Templates** in the QR editor when you want to reuse an approved appearance across QR codes.
Template actions include:
* **Apply template** to update the current QR appearance
* **Save as template** to store the current appearance for the organization
* rename or archive saved templates from the apply dialog
Templates change only design fields. They keep the QR name, domain, default destination, and country-specific destination rules unchanged.
## Using Media [#using-media]
You can upload images in the Media area and use them as overlays in QR designs.
Supported image types include:
* PNG
* JPG or JPEG
* SVG
* WEBP
## Good Design Practices [#good-design-practices]
* Keep enough contrast between the QR and its background.
* Avoid making the center image too large.
* Test scans before publishing widely.
* Use frame text only when it supports the action clearly.
* Save templates only after the design scans reliably on a real device.
## If You Cannot Delete an Image [#if-you-cannot-delete-an-image]
GeoQR prevents you from deleting media that is still used by a QR code. Remove it from any QR designs first, then try again.

# Design Templates (/docs/qr-codes/design-templates)
Design templates let your organization reuse the visual setup from one QR code across other QR codes.
A template stores the QR appearance only. It does not change the QR name, serving domain, default destination, or country-specific destination rules.
## What Templates Store [#what-templates-store]
Templates can include:
* dot and corner styles
* colors and gradients
* frame template, frame text, and frame colors
* margin and error correction settings
* media overlay settings
If a template uses a media overlay, the media file must still be available in the same organization.
## Save a Template [#save-a-template]
Open a QR code in the create or edit flow.
Adjust the QR appearance in the design controls until the preview looks right.
Open **Templates** and choose **Save as template**.
Enter a template name that your team can recognize later, then save it.
Use names that describe the campaign, brand system, or placement, such as "Retail shelf talker" or "Event badge".
## Apply a Template [#apply-a-template]
Open the QR code you want to design.
Open **Templates** and choose **Apply template**.
Pick the saved template and apply it.
Review the QR preview and scan-test the result before publishing or saving live changes.
Applying a template updates only the design fields. Your destination setup stays in place.
## Use Templates With Quick Create [#use-templates-with-quick-create]
Quick create can apply a saved design template while creating a published QR code. This is useful when the destination is simple and the QR should use an established organization design.
Quick create asks for:
* default URL
* domain
* template, or the default look
* optional internal name
After GeoQR creates the QR code, it opens the edit screen so you can review the live setup, add country-specific rules if needed, or adjust the design.
## Rename or Archive Templates [#rename-or-archive-templates]
From **Apply template**, each saved template includes actions to:
* apply it to the current QR code
* rename it
* archive it
Archiving removes the template from the active template list. It does not change QR codes that already used that design.
## Good Template Practices [#good-template-practices]
* Keep a small set of approved templates instead of many near-duplicates.
* Use high-contrast designs that scan reliably in normal lighting.
* Save templates only after a real-device scan test.
* Review templates when brand colors, logos, or campaign artwork changes.
* Avoid storing temporary experiments as organization templates unless the team needs them again.

# Destination Rules (/docs/qr-codes/destination-rules)
Every QR code needs one main destination URL. You can also add country-specific rules for more targeted routing.
## Default Destination [#default-destination]
The default destination is the fallback URL used when no country-specific rule applies.
Every publishable QR code needs a valid default destination.
## Country-Specific Rules [#country-specific-rules]
Country rules let you send visitors in certain countries to different URLs.
Use this when you need:
* regional landing pages
* local storefronts
* country-specific campaigns
* localized support or signup links
## When Not To Use Country Rules [#when-not-to-use-country-rules]
You probably do not need country rules if:
* everyone should land on the same page
* you are launching your first QR and want the simplest possible setup
* you cannot test the regional behavior with confidence
## Best Practices [#best-practices]
* Keep the default destination valid even if you use country rules.
* Only add country rules where they are truly needed.
* Use clear internal QR names so your team knows why a QR includes regional routing.
* Test the default destination first, then add country rules one at a time.
## What Happens When Someone Scans [#what-happens-when-someone-scans]
GeoQR chooses:
1. the matching country-specific destination, if one applies
2. otherwise the default destination
If a destination looks unsafe or invalid, the QR may not behave the way you expect until the issue is fixed.

# QR Codes (/docs/qr-codes)
This section covers the end-to-end QR workflow: create, design, publish, verify, and return later when something changes.
## Fastest Way To Ship One QR [#fastest-way-to-ship-one-qr]
Use [Create a QR Code](/docs/qr-codes/create-a-qr-code) to choose quick create when you have one clear destination and a ready domain.
Apply the default look or a saved [Design Template](/docs/qr-codes/design-templates), then review the QR on the edit screen.
Scan the live code on a real device before sharing or printing it.
## Common Decisions [#common-decisions]
Usually no. Start with one default destination in [Create a QR Code](/docs/qr-codes/create-a-qr-code), then add [Destination Rules](/docs/qr-codes/destination-rules) only when you know the regional behavior you need.
Use quick create when the QR needs one default destination and can go live immediately. Use the guided flow when you want a draft, country-specific routing, or a slower review before publishing.
Publish once the serving domain, destination, and scan test all look correct. Use [Publish and Share](/docs/qr-codes/publish-and-share) as the pre-launch checklist.
Set up [Domains](/docs/domains) before you need branded links, and keep reusable assets in [Media](/docs/media) before you start the design step.
A template changes the QR appearance only. It keeps the current name, domain, default destination, and country-specific destination rules.
# Manage Existing QR Codes (/docs/qr-codes/manage-existing-qr-codes)
After a QR code exists, you can return to it from the QR list or from the recent QR section in the sidebar.
## Finding the Right QR Faster [#finding-the-right-qr-faster]
The QR list supports:
* search
* sorting
* opening a QR directly from the list
This is especially useful once your organization has more than a few active codes.
## What You Can Update [#what-you-can-update]
You can return to a QR code and change:
* its internal name
* serving domain
* destination rules
* design
* linked media
You can also use **Templates** while editing a QR code to apply an organization design template or save the current appearance as a template.
## Draft vs Published [#draft-vs-published]
GeoQR distinguishes between draft QR codes and published QR codes.
* Drafts are still being prepared.
* Published QR codes are live.
You can continue updating published QR codes when needed, but always test again before sharing updates broadly.
## Verify URLs [#verify-urls]
From the QR list, you can run a URL verification action for a QR code. This is useful when you want GeoQR to re-check destination links and refresh any redirect-safety warnings.
## Deleting a QR Code [#deleting-a-qr-code]
If you no longer need a QR code, you can delete it from the row actions menu.
Important behavior:
* deleting a QR code means it will no longer work when scanned
* the action cannot be undone
* it is best used only when you are sure the QR should no longer be active
## Reviewing Attention Issues [#reviewing-attention-issues]
If a QR has a destination problem, GeoQR may surface that through the editor or notification inbox. Open the QR, review the destinations, fix the issue, and test again.

# Publish and Share (/docs/qr-codes/publish-and-share)
Publishing makes your QR code live and ready to share.
Do at least one real-device scan test before printing or sharing widely. A QR that looks good in the editor can still fail if the destination, contrast, or logo treatment is off.
## Before You Publish [#before-you-publish]
Check these items:
* the QR has the correct name
* the serving domain is correct
* the default destination works
* any country-specific rules are correct
* the design scans reliably
## What Publishing Changes [#what-publishing-changes]
After publishing:
* the QR becomes live
* the destination rules are used when people scan
* Analytics starts showing scan activity once scans happen
## Before You Print or Share Widely [#before-you-print-or-share-widely]
Do a real-world check first:
1. Scan the QR from another device.
2. Try it in normal lighting.
3. Confirm the destination opens quickly.
4. If you added a logo or frame, make sure the code still scans reliably. Even small styling changes can affect scan reliability, especially with low contrast, large logos, or poor print conditions.
## Re-Test After Changes [#re-test-after-changes]
If you later change the destination, domain, media, or QR styling, test again before sharing the updated QR widely.
## Sharing Your QR Code [#sharing-your-qr-code]
Before you share widely:
1. Scan the QR yourself.
2. Confirm the correct destination opens.
3. Confirm the design works on real devices.
4. If you use country rules, test them as much as practical.
## If Publishing Does Not Work [#if-publishing-does-not-work]
Common reasons include:
* missing required information
* invalid destination setup
* a destination that needs attention before GeoQR will allow it to go live
If the QR editor itself is unavailable or key actions are locked, check whether your organization has billing access and whether your role allows the action.
## After You Publish [#after-you-publish]
Once the QR is live, a good next step is to:
1. watch for early scan activity in [Analytics](/docs/analytics)
2. keep an eye on [Notifications](/docs/account-security/notifications)
3. return to the QR later if you need to update the destination or design

# Billing and Access Issues (/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues)
If an area is completely locked, the issue is often billing access. If the page opens but one button or action is missing, the issue is often your organization role.
## Paid Areas Are Locked [#paid-areas-are-locked]
If QR codes, domains, analytics, or media are unavailable, the organization may not currently have billing access.
Start by opening the Billing page and checking:
* current plan
* status
* whether checkout is still pending
Use that order first before trying anything else.
If the page is visible but one specific action is missing, check your organization role too. Missing controls are not always a billing problem.
## Checkout Was Not Finished [#checkout-was-not-finished]
If you started checkout but left before it completed, GeoQR can show the selected plan as pending. Choose that plan again to continue the checkout flow.
## I Can Open Billing but Not the Rest of the App [#i-can-open-billing-but-not-the-rest-of-the-app]
That is expected when billing access is missing. Billing stays available so you can fix the problem, while paid feature areas remain locked. GeoQR leaves Billing available so someone on your team can resume checkout, change the plan, or confirm the current access state.
## A Simple Recovery Order [#a-simple-recovery-order]
Open Billing.
Check whether checkout is incomplete.
Resume the pending plan if needed.
Refresh the app after billing access returns.
## I Can See the Organization but Not Manage Billing [#i-can-see-the-organization-but-not-manage-billing]
That usually means your role does not allow billing changes. In many teams, only owners and admins handle plan changes.
## I Want To Delete My Organization but Cannot [#i-want-to-delete-my-organization-but-cannot]
GeoQR blocks organization deletion while paid or trial access is still active. Resolve the billing state first, then try the deletion flow again.

# FAQ (/docs/troubleshooting/faq)
## What Is an Organization? [#what-is-an-organization]
An organization is the shared GeoQR area where your team manages QR codes, domains, analytics, notifications, members, and billing.
## Do I Need an Organization Before I Can Use GeoQR? [#do-i-need-an-organization-before-i-can-use-geoqr]
Yes. If you do not already belong to one, GeoQR sends you through onboarding after sign-in.
## Can I Come Back to a QR Code Later? [#can-i-come-back-to-a-qr-code-later]
Yes. GeoQR supports drafts, so you can start a QR code and return to it later.
## Can I Use My Own Domain? [#can-i-use-my-own-domain]
Yes. Add a custom domain in the Domains area and follow the DNS instructions shown in the app.
## Do I Need a Custom Domain? [#do-i-need-a-custom-domain]
No. You can start with the default available domain option and add a branded domain later.
## Can I Use Images or Logos Inside My QR Codes? [#can-i-use-images-or-logos-inside-my-qr-codes]
Yes. Upload them in the Media area first, then apply them during the QR design step.
## Why Are Some Areas Locked? [#why-are-some-areas-locked]
Some parts of GeoQR depend on active organization billing access. Open Billing to review the current status.
## Can I Belong to More Than One Organization? [#can-i-belong-to-more-than-one-organization]
Yes. If you are part of multiple organizations, use the account menu in the sidebar to switch between them.
## Why Can I See the Organization but Not Change Settings or Billing? [#why-can-i-see-the-organization-but-not-change-settings-or-billing]
Your organization role may not allow that action. In many teams, billing and member management are handled by admins and owners.
## Where Do I Change My Timezone? [#where-do-i-change-my-timezone]
Open Settings and update your account information. GeoQR uses your timezone for date-based analytics views.
## Where Do Notifications Appear? [#where-do-notifications-appear]
Use the bell icon in the app header to open the notification inbox.
## How Do I Switch Between Organizations? [#how-do-i-switch-between-organizations]
Open the account menu in the sidebar, open **Organization**, and select the organization you want to use.
## What Should I Do Before Sharing a QR Code Publicly? [#what-should-i-do-before-sharing-a-qr-code-publicly]
Test it yourself first on a real device, confirm the right page opens, and make sure the design scans reliably in normal conditions.
## Can I Search or Sort My QR Codes? [#can-i-search-or-sort-my-qr-codes]
Yes. The QR list supports search and sorting so you can find existing codes faster as your organization grows.
## Why Can I Not Delete a Domain or Media File? [#why-can-i-not-delete-a-domain-or-media-file]
GeoQR blocks deletion when an active QR code is still using that domain or file. Update the QR code first, then try again.
## What Happens If I Delete a QR Code? [#what-happens-if-i-delete-a-qr-code]
That QR code will no longer work when scanned, and the deletion cannot be undone.

# Troubleshooting (/docs/troubleshooting)
When something is broken, start with the closest symptom instead of scanning the whole help center.
## Start With The Symptom [#start-with-the-symptom]
Start with [Invitation and Login Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/invitation-and-login-issues).
Start with [Billing and Access Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues), then check [Roles and Permissions](/docs/team-access/roles-and-permissions).
Start with [QR Code and Scan Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/qr-code-and-scan-issues), then verify the underlying setup in [QR Codes](/docs/qr-codes) or [Domains](/docs/domains).
Open [FAQ](/docs/troubleshooting/faq) first.
# Invitation and Login Issues (/docs/troubleshooting/invitation-and-login-issues)
## I Did Not Receive My Verification Email [#i-did-not-receive-my-verification-email]
Try these steps:
* check spam or junk
* make sure you used the correct email address
* try signing in again and look for another verification prompt
## My Invitation Link Does Not Work [#my-invitation-link-does-not-work]
The invitation may be:
* expired
* canceled
* already accepted
* opened while signed in to the wrong account
Open the invitation while signed in to the same email address the invitation was sent to.
If the invitation has expired or was canceled, ask the organization admin or owner to send a new one.
If you were invited before you created your GeoQR account, create the account with the invited email address first and then reopen the invitation link.
## I Am Signed In With the Wrong Account [#i-am-signed-in-with-the-wrong-account]
If GeoQR detects that your invitation belongs to a different email address, switch accounts and return to the invitation flow.
If you have multiple accounts, double-check which inbox received the invitation before trying again.
## I Accepted the Invitation but Cannot Find the Organization [#i-accepted-the-invitation-but-cannot-find-the-organization]
If you belong to more than one organization, GeoQR may still be showing your previously active organization.
Try this:
1. Open the account menu in the sidebar.
2. Open **Organization**.
3. Select the organization you were invited to.
## I Cannot Finish Two-Factor Setup [#i-cannot-finish-two-factor-setup]
Check that:
* your account has a password
* you entered your current password correctly
* you used the latest 6-digit code from your authenticator app
## I Lost Access to My Authenticator App [#i-lost-access-to-my-authenticator-app]
Use one of your backup codes if you saved them during setup. If you do not have backup codes, recover access to the account first before changing security settings.
If you still have access to the account through another method, open Settings and update your two-factor setup after you regain access.

# QR Code and Scan Issues (/docs/troubleshooting/qr-code-and-scan-issues)
When something is wrong, remove optional complexity before doing anything else. One default destination and a plain design are the fastest way to isolate the problem.
## My QR Code Will Not Publish [#my-qr-code-will-not-publish]
Check that:
* the QR has a name
* the destination is filled in
* the destination is valid
* the selected domain is correct
If the QR still does not publish, review the destination rules one by one and remove anything you no longer need.
If the QR area is locked before you even reach publishing, check [Billing and access issues](/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues).
## The QR Scans but Opens the Wrong Page [#the-qr-scans-but-opens-the-wrong-page]
Review the QR code and check:
* the default destination
* any country-specific rules
* the selected serving domain
If you use country rules, remember that visitors in matching countries may be sent to a different URL than the default.
Country rules override the default destination when a visitor matches one of the configured countries. If you want one consistent destination everywhere, remove the country-specific rules.
Try testing with the simplest possible setup first:
1. keep only the default destination
2. test the scan
3. add country rules back one at a time
## My Branded Domain Is Not Available Yet [#my-branded-domain-is-not-available-yet]
If the domain still looks pending:
* double-check your DNS records
* confirm the CNAME or TXT value is exact
* wait a little longer for propagation
## I Cannot Delete a Domain or Image [#i-cannot-delete-a-domain-or-image]
GeoQR does not let you remove a domain or media item while QR codes are still using it. Update those QR codes first, then try again.
## I Am Not Seeing Analytics Yet [#i-am-not-seeing-analytics-yet]
Analytics is based on real scan activity. If you just published the QR, test it with a real scan and then give the data a little time to appear.
## My QR Design Does Not Scan Reliably [#my-qr-design-does-not-scan-reliably]
Try these fixes:
* increase contrast
* reduce logo size
* simplify the design
* print or display the QR a bit larger
* test again on another device
## A Good Troubleshooting Order [#a-good-troubleshooting-order]
When a QR is not behaving as expected:
Test the simplest version first.
Confirm the default destination works.
Remove optional rules or media one at a time.
Retest after each change.
Publish again only when the QR works consistently.

# Team and Access (/docs/team-access)
Use this section when you need to manage people, understand role limits, or change organization-level settings safely.
## Who Usually Handles What [#who-usually-handles-what]
Owners handle high-risk actions such as billing changes and organization deletion.
Admins usually manage day-to-day member operations and organizational settings.
Members focus on QR work, analytics, and normal usage inside the permissions they already have.
## When Something Is Missing [#when-something-is-missing]
Check [Roles and Permissions](/docs/team-access/roles-and-permissions) first. If the option is still missing, ask an owner or admin to perform the action.
That usually means your role is too limited or the organization has lost billing access. Continue with [Billing](/docs/billing) and [Billing and Access Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues).
Use the account menu in the sidebar, open the organization section, and select the organization you want to work in.
# Organization and Members (/docs/team-access/organization-and-members)
The Organization and Members settings areas help you manage the organization itself.
## Invite Teammates [#invite-teammates]
You can invite people by email and choose a role for them.
Typical roles are:
* Owner
* Admin
* Member
Invite teammates using the email address they will actually use to sign in. This helps them accept the invitation without account-switching problems.
In most organizations, owners and admins handle member management. Members may not see these controls.
## Manage Existing Members [#manage-existing-members]
Depending on your role, you can:
* change member roles
* remove members
* review pending invitations
* cancel invitations that are no longer needed
If you cannot see a management action you expected, your organization role may not allow it.
For a simpler explanation of what each role usually means, read [Roles and permissions](/docs/team-access/roles-and-permissions).
## Organization Details [#organization-details]
You can also update:
* the organization name
* the organization slug
Be careful when changing the organization slug, especially if your team uses it in saved links, written instructions, or confirmation steps.
## Switch Between Organizations [#switch-between-organizations]
If you belong to more than one organization, use the switcher in the account menu to move between them.
Typical path:
1. Open the account menu in the sidebar.
2. Open the **Organization** section.
3. Select the organization you want to use.
After switching, GeoQR updates the active organization and returns you to the app in that context.
If you do not currently have an active organization, the account menu points you to organization setup instead.
## Deleting an Organization [#deleting-an-organization]
Organization deletion is a serious action and is protected carefully.
Important behavior:
* only owners can request deletion
* you must type the current organization slug to confirm
* active paid or trial access must be resolved first
* deletion is scheduled, not immediate
If you change your mind before the deletion completes, you can cancel it while it is still pending.
## Account Deletion and Organization Ownership [#account-deletion-and-organization-ownership]
Account deletion and organization deletion are separate actions.
Important behavior:
* deleting your account does not delete an active organization you own
* GeoQR blocks account deletion while you are still an owner of any organization
* delete the organization or transfer ownership first, then retry account deletion
This prevents shared organization resources such as QR codes, domains, media, redirects, and analytics from being removed just because the owner deletes their personal account.

# Roles and Permissions (/docs/team-access/roles-and-permissions)
GeoQR organizations use roles so teams can collaborate without giving everyone the same level of control.
When an expected action does not appear, do not assume the app is broken. In most cases, the action is limited by role or by billing access for the organization.
## The Main Roles [#the-main-roles]
You may see one of these roles in your organization:
* Owner
* Admin
* Member
## Owner [#owner]
Owners usually have the broadest control.
Typical owner actions include:
* managing organization details
* inviting teammates
* changing member roles
* removing members
* managing billing
* requesting organization deletion
## Admin [#admin]
Admins can usually help run the organization day to day.
Typical admin actions include:
* inviting teammates
* managing members
* updating organization settings
* handling billing tasks
Admins are not the same as owners. Some high-risk actions, such as deleting the organization, may still be owner-only.
## Member [#member]
Members can use the organization but may not see management actions.
Typical member behavior:
* create and manage QR work
* review analytics
* use organization features they have access to
* contact an admin or owner when a management action is blocked
## If You Cannot See an Action [#if-you-cannot-see-an-action]
If you expected to do something but the option is missing, one of these is usually true:
* your role does not allow it
* the organization does not currently have billing access
* the item is still in use somewhere else, such as a QR code using a domain or media file
## Common Examples [#common-examples]
### I want to invite a teammate [#i-want-to-invite-a-teammate]
If you do not see the option, ask an admin or owner.
### I want to change billing [#i-want-to-change-billing]
If the billing action is not available, ask an admin or owner.
### I want to delete the organization [#i-want-to-delete-the-organization]
This is usually limited to the owner.
Actions such as billing changes or organization deletion affect everyone in the organization, so GeoQR keeps them restricted to the highest-trust roles.
