# Getting Started (/docs/getting-started)

This section is the shortest route from first login to a working GeoQR workspace.

<MiniAlert tone="tip" title="Fastest path">
  If you were invited by someone else, use the same email address for sign-in and invitation acceptance. That avoids the most common onboarding problem.

## What You Need Before You Begin [#what-you-need-before-you-begin]

* An email address you can access.
* An organization invitation, or a plan to create your own organization.
* A destination URL you want your QR codes to open.
* If you want branded links, a domain or subdomain you control.

## What Happens First [#what-happens-first]

After you sign in, GeoQR checks whether you already belong to an organization.

* If you do, you can continue into the app.
* If you do not, GeoQR sends you to onboarding so you can join an organization or create one.

<HelpTip label="Why does GeoQR send me to onboarding?">
  Onboarding appears only when your account does not yet have an active organization selected. Once you belong to one, GeoQR sends you straight to the app instead.
</HelpTip>

## What To Open Next [#what-to-open-next]

Once you reach the dashboard, most new users should continue with:

1. [Domains](/docs/domains), if branded links matter to you
2. [Media](/docs/media), if you want to use logos or images
3. [Create a QR Code](/docs/qr-codes/create-a-qr-code), to publish your first working QR

## If Setup Feels Blocked [#if-setup-feels-blocked]

The most common reasons are:

* you are signed in with a different email than the one that received the invitation
* your organization does not yet have billing access
* your role does not allow the action you expected
