# Design and Media (/docs/qr-codes/design-and-media)

GeoQR lets you customize both the QR itself and any supporting frame or media treatment.

## Design Options [#design-options]

Depending on your QR setup, you can customize:

* colors
* gradients
* dot and corner styles
* frame style
* frame text
* optional media overlay

## Design Templates [#design-templates]

Use **Templates** in the QR editor when you want to reuse an approved appearance across QR codes.

Template actions include:

* **Apply template** to update the current QR appearance
* **Save as template** to store the current appearance for the organization
* rename or archive saved templates from the apply dialog

Templates change only design fields. They keep the QR name, domain, default destination, and country-specific destination rules unchanged.

## Using Media [#using-media]

You can upload images in the Media area and use them as overlays in QR designs.

Supported image types include:

* PNG
* JPG or JPEG
* SVG
* WEBP

## Good Design Practices [#good-design-practices]

* Keep enough contrast between the QR and its background.
* Avoid making the center image too large.
* Test scans before publishing widely.
* Use frame text only when it supports the action clearly.
* Save templates only after the design scans reliably on a real device.

## If You Cannot Delete an Image [#if-you-cannot-delete-an-image]

GeoQR prevents you from deleting media that is still used by a QR code. Remove it from any QR designs first, then try again.
