Publishing makes your QR code live and ready to share.

## Before You Publish [#before-you-publish]

Check these items:

* the QR has the correct name
* the serving domain is correct
* the default destination works
* any country-specific rules are correct
* the design scans reliably

## What Publishing Changes [#what-publishing-changes]

After publishing:

* the QR becomes live
* the destination rules are used when people scan
* Analytics starts showing scan activity once scans happen

## Before You Print or Share Widely [#before-you-print-or-share-widely]

Do a real-world check first:

1. Scan the QR from another device.
2. Try it in normal lighting.
3. Confirm the destination opens quickly.
4. If you added a logo or frame, make sure the code still scans reliably. <HelpTip label="Why test again after design changes?">Even small styling changes can affect scan reliability, especially with low contrast, large logos, or poor print conditions.</HelpTip>

## Re-Test After Changes [#re-test-after-changes]

If you later change the destination, domain, media, or QR styling, test again before sharing the updated QR widely.

## Sharing Your QR Code [#sharing-your-qr-code]

Before you share widely:

1. Scan the QR yourself.
2. Confirm the correct destination opens.
3. Confirm the design works on real devices.
4. If you use country rules, test them as much as practical.

## If Publishing Does Not Work [#if-publishing-does-not-work]

Common reasons include:

* missing required information
* invalid destination setup
* a destination that needs attention before GeoQR will allow it to go live

If the QR editor itself is unavailable or key actions are locked, check whether your organization has billing access and whether your role allows the action.

## After You Publish [#after-you-publish]

Once the QR is live, a good next step is to:

1. watch for early scan activity in [Analytics](/docs/analytics)
2. keep an eye on [Notifications](/docs/account-security/notifications)
3. return to the QR later if you need to update the destination or design
