FAQ / Questions & answers

Answers for teams planning a multi-market QR rollout.

Find the details teams need before launch: trial limits, export formats, geo routing, branded domains, analytics, redirect safety, and the checks worth doing before a QR code goes live.

01 / Getting started

Getting started & trial

Use these answers to understand what a team can validate before committing to a paid rollout.

What is included in the free trial?

The 14-day Starter trial is available once per organization and starts without a payment method. After an organization has used its trial, a later Starter subscription begins as paid. Stripe Checkout confirms whether the trial is available and any amount due before checkout is completed. It includes 10 published QR codes, unlimited scans, and 25 media files.

Do I need a payment method for the trial?

No. The Starter trial starts without a payment method. If you add one during the trial, your Starter subscription begins automatically when the trial ends and renews until canceled. Without one, the trial ends without a charge and the organization returns to Free limits.

Can we launch real QR codes during the trial?

Yes. The trial is built for validating a live rollout. Teams can publish up to 10 QR codes, test routing in the field, and confirm the end-to-end scan experience before moving to a paid plan.

What changes when we move to a paid plan?

Every paid plan keeps scans unlimited. Higher tiers increase published QR, media, and custom domain capacity while adding broader analytics visibility.

02 / Routing & updates

Dynamic QR behavior & geo routing

These answers cover how one printed QR can keep adapting after the physical asset is already in circulation.

Can we change destinations after a QR code is printed?

Yes. You can update the default destination, country and device routes, combined routing rules, temporary schedules, and media after the code has already been printed and distributed.

How does country-specific routing work?

GeoQR uses country-level network information from the resolver request. It checks for a matching country rule and otherwise uses the default destination. It does not request precise GPS coordinates or location permission from the visitor.

What happens if no geo rule matches a scan?

Each QR keeps a default destination alongside any country-specific rules. If GeoQR does not find a market match, it falls back to the default redirect.

03 / Brand control

Branding, domains & campaign control

This section focuses on how much control teams keep over design and branded destinations once the rollout is underway.

Do we need a custom domain to get started?

No. Teams can start with the default available domain option and add a branded domain later when they are ready.

Can we use our own branded domain?

Yes. GeoQR supports custom domains so teams can run QR campaigns on brand-owned URLs instead of relying on a generic redirect domain.

Does GeoQR support branded QR designs and media?

Yes. Teams can publish QR assets with consistent design, upload supporting media, and keep branded campaign experiences managed from the same control plane.

Can we download QR codes as PNG or SVG?

Yes. GeoQR can export QR artwork as PNG or SVG. Use PNG for quick digital use and SVG when you need scalable artwork for print layouts or production files.

Which QR design options can we control?

GeoQR supports branded QR design options such as solid or gradient colors, dot and corner styles, CTA frames, margins, logo overlays, and error correction controls.

04 / Analytics & launch

Analytics, safety & launch readiness

These are the operational questions teams usually ask before a QR code goes public.

What scan activity does GeoQR report?

GeoQR reports total scans, estimated daily unique scanners, and trends across QR codes, campaigns, countries, devices, destinations, and time ranges. You can also inspect the individual events behind those reports. Estimated daily unique scanners is a trend estimate rather than an exact count of people.

Does GeoQR check destination safety?

GeoQR includes redirect safety checks to help teams review risky destination URLs before they become customer-facing. Teams should still test and approve final destinations before launch.

What should we verify before sharing a QR code publicly?

Test the QR on a real device, confirm that the right destination opens, and make sure the design scans reliably in normal conditions before you print or share it broadly.

Does GeoQR rely on precise GPS location for geo routing or analytics?

No. GeoQR describes scan location at the country level based on network metadata. It does not describe this flow as collecting precise GPS coordinates from scans.

Next step / Ready to launch

Build the QR once. Keep improving everything behind it.

GeoQR is for teams that need printed assets to stay stable while destinations, campaigns, and local market rules keep changing.
